Jun Miura received B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1984,
M.Eng. and Dr.Eng. degrees in Information Engineering in
1986 and 1989 respectively, all from the University of
Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan. From 1989 to 2007, he had been with
Department of Mechanical Engineering, Osaka University,
Suita, Japan, first as a Research Associate and later as
an Associate Professor. In 2007, he became a Professor of
Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Toyohashi
University of Technology, Toyohashi, Japan. From March
1994 to February 1995, he was a Visiting Scientist at
Computer Science Department, Carnegie Mellon University,
Pittsburgh, PA, USA. His research interests include
intelligent robotics, computer vision, and artificial
intelligence. He received the Best Paper Award from the
Robotics Society of Japan in 1997. He was a finalist for the
Best Paper Award at ICRA-1995 and for the Best Service Robotics Paper
Award at ICRA-2013. Prof. Miura is an active menber of Institute of Electric and Electronic Engineers (also Robotics and Automation Society, Computer Society, and Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society), Robotics Society of Japan (Fellow(2011-)), Japanese Society of Artificial Intelligence, Information Processing Society of Japan, Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers, and Japanese Society of Mechanical Engineers. |
